When a woman

chooses to open to her self

she forgets the appearance to please

instead she spends her time

bathing in her truth

like an oak standing in the sun

her beauty becomes

as light shadows dancing on green leaves.

Really, really nice! (hope you’re not offended, but you need to make just one tiny change—you need an extra “o” in “chooses.” (Sorry, it’s my editor hat coming out!)

Beautifully said–love the image and the language is, as always, pure music. Would love to hear you read this aloud 🙂

Thank you Susan for hearing the music and for letting me know. I’m getting a microphone for my monthly writers group so I can try reading aloud this week. Fun!

Do it! We just had this awesome, huge poetry marathon in my city this weekend I was able to participate in 🙂

That’s what inspired the “Amateur poets” piece
