Grace #3

Did we create government to protect?

Have you heard my screams?

Let them love

Let them love

Let them love

All children are born with the spark in their eye

They grow up playing with balls

They play with dolls

And when they are ready

All children look for someone to love

None different from the other

All meant to connect

Yet we live in a country

Where some will not dance

Some fear holding hands

Today Mr. President,

You are my metaphor for grace

The leader of our nation

Changing his words

Hope for change

Today I am not screaming

No, I am feeling joy

Mr. President,

Let me join my words with yours

Let’s ask our goverment to help protect us

No more men on bridges

No more women in pain

Let us love

Let us love

Let us love.

Jennifer–YES! Let us all love the way God made us to–individually.

Your political poetry is ever so much more graceful than mine–you sing, I clobber….
