Wholeness

Maybe it was the way

he said something

or did you catch

a look in his eye–

in that moment

when you realize

that dark clings

do you run

or do you

for the first time

give him your trust?

Trust

in him

have faith that

light burns

all around

and through

hug him

knowing you also embrace

a fertile darkness

that lives in him

much as it lives

in your own gut

and comes up for you sometimes

do not be afraid

to trust

show him

you accept

(this is what it means

to be whole).

Dear One,

Remember the flowers

in our garden–

they break in winter

but always rise

again in spring

so pure.

I love how you capture a moment, and it inspires a song…
