Sadie’s Determination

In Sadie’s first open-eyed breath

Of the morning

She noticed the glow

Still flowing around her bedroom curtains

So with a grateful smile

Sadie whispered words of love

Until her heart was open wide enough

To carry the moonlight in it

But as she went downstairs

Sadie knew she may get distracted

So she took a last few moments

To light the candle on the kitchen counter

And close her eyes to sing

Until she knew

That as the kids woke up

Giggling, describing, planning

And as she made their oatmeal and toast

The glow of love would surely be there

To fall on her sweet family.

You paint Rockwellesque images of relationships and familial love, albeit with words. Well done.

🙂 I have a notebook where I write the ideas that come whenever they come. Otherwise they would be gone. This one was written from “what does a perfect day feel like.” So yes…so interesting…Rockwellesque…you always read so closely you get where in the world some of it is coming from.:) Thank you Nelle! -Jennifer
