Fall when you are ready

Today I noticed

Looking at the branches

At the top of our oak tree

That the leaves growing

Closest to the light

Were refusing to fall

As if a closer

More intimate relationship

Was making the letting go

Just that more difficult

That the leaves at the top

Would rely on the ones

Closer to the earth

To return to the ground

Signaling for the rest of us

Shorter days

Less warmth

While the ones on top

Would refuse to stop basking

Of the Beauty

In a Light

That will never fully cease.

    Dear Lady Jenny,

So glad to know you are there! I love this entry. Life penetrates every nook and cranny of the world. There is a variation of life within every living thing, and trees are alive in ways that are difficult to appreciate normally, but you have illuminated that life in the most marvelous way.

Your absence has been conspicuous! So many of your efforts resonate with the very essence of life, and Sadie is the embodiment of every nuance that exists within its boundaries. You should elaborate more in prose writing to share this intimacy you express to us so beautifully. Expand OUR universe with your wisdom and love…Just sayin’…John H.

John, Thank you for your encourgement! Reminded me of tweaks I could give my inner voice. Really helped. Hope all is well with you (and your writing). I haven’t been reading here lately and would love to get back to it.
